The Hispanic Honor Society, a national organization, welcomed 35 new members.

Srta. Korchmaros, the club sponsor, and many proud families attended to see their students inducted. 

Niesmer Horrutiner Cuesta sang and danced songs by Cuban Celia Cruz, "the Queen of Salsa", in true Latin style. It made the evening spicy and colorful!

Cortez has many students from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, and more.

Hispanic Heritage Month is from September 15th through October 15th, and the club is looking forward to studying, sharing, and celebrating Hispanic culture and language with all of Cortez High School.
