Homecoming Week Was a Huge Success!

What an incredible Homecoming Week! A huge thank you to our Student Council for putting together an amazing Spirit Week, carnival, and well-attended Homecoming Dance. Your creativity, energy, and hard work helped make the week a memorable experience for our entire school community. Congratulations to our Varsity Football Team on their big win against Camp Verde! We are proud of the hard work and dedication our athletes continue to show both on and off the field. One of the highlights of the week was seeing so many of our clubs and sports teams participate in the halftime parade. It was wonderful to see our students come together, represent their organizations, and show their school spirit as they walked around the track.

A special shout-out and heartfelt thank you goes to all of the barbers from Chrispy Cutters who came out to support our community by providing free haircuts. Your generosity and willingness to give back helped make Homecoming Week even more special. Thank you to everyone who helped make Homecoming Week such a success. Our school spirit was on full display, and we are grateful for the students, staff, families, and community members who made it possible!

Colts Show Up & Out!

We talk a lot about building character, community, and academic excellence here at Cortez High School, and our students recently put those values into action in a truly inspiring way. More than 90 Cortez students and 7 adults made the trip to Tempe for a service night with Feed My Starving Children (FMSC). Our Colts brought incredible energy, teamwork, and school spirit as they worked together to make a meaningful difference for children and families around the world.

The Impact by the Numbers

• 26,000+ life-saving meals packed for children in need
• 97+ Colts working side-by-side in service
• Countless smiles and proud moments as our students represented Cortez High School

Finding ways to give back and strengthen both our local and global communities is a core part of our Portrait of a Graduate framework. Seeing our Colts step up with such enthusiasm and compassion is a powerful reminder of the kind of community we are building—and why the future is bright at Cortez High School!
