CORTEZ MONTHLY NEWSLETTER

Cortez High School • November Newsletter
Dear Cortez Community,
November is a special month at Cortez High School. A time for gratitude, community, and celebration. As we move into the heart of the semester, we are proud to reflect on the achievements of our students and staff, and we look forward to the many meaningful events ahead.
💫 Celebrating Our “A” Rating
We are proud to share that Cortez High School has once again earned an “A” rating from the Arizona Department of Education! This accomplishment is a reflection of the dedication, expertise, and heart that our teachers, staff, students, and families bring to our campus every day. Thank you for continuing to uphold the high standards that make Cortez exceptional. We will be celebrating our students' achievement on November 26th during lunchtime.
🌍 International Day
Last week, we proudly celebrated International Day, one of the most meaningful and vibrant traditions at Cortez High School. The event featured beautiful table displays, students dressed in cultural attire, music, and dancing. Even the rain couldn’t stop the celebration. Our community seamlessly transitioned indoors to the gymnasium, where the energy and excitement continued.
Cortez showcased 29 different languages, reflecting the incredible diversity of our school community. International Day remains a cherished part of our culture, and we are grateful to everyone who helped make this year’s celebration such a memorable success.

📚 The Importance of Attendance
As we approach the end of the semester, every day counts. There are only 12 full days of school left after Thanksgiving break. These final grades will be recorded on student transcripts, making attendance and engagement more important than ever. Cortez faculty and staff are here to support students, both before and after school, and our Media Center and Title I Lab provide quiet, focused spaces for students to study and complete assignments. Please encourage your teen to finish strong and make the most of these remaining days!
