SCOTTSDALE CULINARY INSTITUTE: Chef Joel from SCI visited Cortez and gave demontrations to the Culinary classes along with some delicious samples! SCI has 7 amazing programs available for study. If you have an interest in becoming a chef or running a restaurant, Scottsdale Culinary has something great to offer you.
You can also visit the L'Academie Cafe and/or L'Ecole Restaurant. They are part of Scottsdale Culinary and you can receive a 4 course meal for about $13!
U of A – ARIZONA ASSURANCE: Arizona Assurance makes what seemed impossible, possible by giving students from families earning up to $42,400 per year the opportunity to graduate in four years without borrowing money.
U of A - COLLEGE OF FINE ARTS: The College of Fine Arts has 2,000 students enrolled in the School of Art, School of Dance, School of Media Arts (film & television), School of Music and School of Theatre Arts. You may choose from three degree options:

A professional Bachelor of Fine Arts in areas such as acting, dance, education, film production, musical theatre, stage production, or studio art
- A professional Bachelor of Music degree in areas such as education, jazz studies, music compostion, or music performance
- A Bachelor of Arts degree in art, media arts, music or theatre arts that allows for broader-based studies in the fine arts and other outside academic areas

GATEWAY COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Gateway CC offers a variety of free summer programs for high school students. Participating students have the opportunity to earn college credit as well as to increase their awareness of the benefits of a college education.
American Indian Studies: This exciting program is available to Native American High School students attending local high school districts. Students earn three college credits for Introduction to American Indian Studies, Health Programs & Industrial Design. The Hoop of Learning scholarship pays for tuition, fees, textbooks, transportation & meals.
Automotive: Are you interested in learning more about internal combustion engines and automotive careers? Students earn three college credits for Internal Combustion Enginies Theory and will explore the career opportunities in the automotive industry and learn about Gateway’s partnerships with Toyota, Nissan and Honda.
Business: In partnership with City of Phx, students attend a four-week program that is designed to combine business education with work experience. Students complete five college credits while gaining real life work experience, then compete in a business plan contest.
Construction: Be part of an exciting career in building America’s future. The opportunities are limitless – construction, construction management, architecture, engineering – you name it! Participate in the Future Builders Academy. Students will receive college credit, work along side construction industry professionals, receive hands-on training, participate in industry tours and earn an OSHA 10–hour certificate. The sponsoring construction companies and contractors will interview qualified students who complete the one-week Academy for participation in paid summer internships.
Healthcare: Are you considering a career in healthcare? During this free program, you will earn three college credits for Fundamentals in Healthcare Delivery, and learn about Gateway’s unique healthcare programs in Medical Radiography, Physical Therapist Assisting, Medical Transcription, Respiratory Care, Nuclear Medicine Technology and Surgical Technology.
Water Resources: Does Arizona have enough water to sustain future growth? Is our current supply healthy? Study these questions and other environmental issues in the Water Resources Summer Program. Participate in daily field trips while you earn four college credits for Introduction to Hydrology Field Experiences.
NAU MERIT TUTION SCHOLARSHIP New Freshmen are automatically considered for some academic scholarships once they are accepted to NAU. Students who wish to be considered for merit tuition scholarships should postmark the undergraduate application and all supporting credentials (official transcript, fee waiver, ACT/SAT scores) as early as possible after the completion of the junior year.
Phoenix College has some amazing classes available this Fall. Registration for these classes begins March 30th. An Associates Degree is available for each program.

ASU UPWARD BOUND: The project is designed to increase the academic skills and motivational levels of low-income and /or potential first generation college students to the extent that they will complete high school and successfully enter post secondary educational programs and graduate.
- Be a "potential first generation student"
- Be 13 but not older than 19 years old at time of admission
- Have completed 8th grade but not yet entered 11th grade
- Be a citizen, national or permanent resident of the United States
- Be a resident of Maricopa County or attend any high school in Maricopa County
- Have a need for academic support (GPA between 1.9 - 3.0)
