Cortez High School was established as part of the Glendale Union High School District in 1960. Cortez is part of the College Board’s 2013 National Advanced Placement District of the Year and has been continuously listed on U.S. News & World Report's Best High School Ranking list. In addition, Cortez is rated an “A” school by the Arizona Department of Education. Along with its educational excellence, Cortez boasts several opportunities for students to be involved in extracurricular activities. Cortez High School is located in Phoenix off 31st Avenue and Dunlap Avenue.
