Cortez High School was established as part of the Glendale Union High School District in 1960. Along with being ranked among the best high schools in the nation by U.S. News and World Report and Newsweek, Cortez is part of the College Board’s 2013 National Advanced Placement District of the Year. In addition, Cortez is rated an “A” school by the Arizona Department of Education. Along with its educational excellence, Cortez boasts several opportunities for students to be involved in extracurricular activities. Cortez High School is located in Phoenix off 31st Avenue and Dunlap Avenue.
