Jonell Sloekers has been teaching at Cortez since 1990, after spending one year at Moon Valley and one year at South Mountain. She has taught every level except Calculus.  Currently she teaches Geometry and Accelerated Precalculus, which is being offered as a dual enrollment course through Gateway Community College.  Sloekers has a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Pomona College, and Master's Degree in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University.
