Mr Freiwald has been at Cortez since 2001, where he began his career as a Mathematics teacher. In 2007 he was moved to the Social Studies Department to teach World and United States History. His first year of teaching included being the Head Varsity Wrestling Coach where he had four Regional Champions participate in the Arizona state Tournament. Mr. Freiwald also has years of experience tutoring mathematics and supervising in the Learning Center on the Cortez Campus.
Mr. Freiwald is an Apollo High Graduate "Class of 1982". Mr. Freiwald served six years in the United States Navy serving aboard the USS Badger (FF-1071) stationed out of Pearl Harbor Hawaii and the USS Virginia (CGN-38) stationed out of Norfolk, Virginia . Mr. Freiwald is a world traveler. After being Honorably discharged from the United States Navy Mr. Freiwald worked for Orbital Sciences Corporation. At Orbital Sciences Mr. Freiwald worked on many electronic products testing satellite tracking devices and rocket launch payloads.
Mr. Freiwald attended Glendale Community College and Arizona State University obtaining his Bachelors of the Arts in education(specialization in History). Mr. Freiwald has his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. |
