Reid Chitwood

Principal

Mr. Chitwood begins his third year as the principal of Cortez High School.  In 1986, Mr. Chitwood began his teaching career in the Applied Technology Department at Cortez.  Prior to becoming principal in 2007, he also held the position of Assistant Principal for Discipline and Attendance as well as Assistant Principal for Student Services.  He believes that all students can learn, and stresses that "Graduation is the Destination" and  reminds students that failure is not an option at Cortez High School.   He is very proud that the Arizona Department of Education has conferred it's highest honor of "EXCELLING" on Cortez for the fourth year in a row.
