FAFSA & FSA ID

(Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

 

For students graduating Spring 2018 & planning to attend college in Fall 2018

 

FSA ID

  • The FSA ID acts as your signature and allows you access to your FAFSA.
  • Parent and student will need to:
    • Provide their own email address. (Not the Cortez email)
    • Create their own FSA ID.
    • Use the same FSA ID each Financial Aid year.
    • Parent use their same FSA ID for any additional children.
    • Parent will need to sign their child’s FAFSA if they’re a dependent.

FAFSA

  • Cortez FAFSA workshops: 10/19, 10/26, & 11/16. All workshops are in the computer lab @ 2:40 p.m. The application should take approximately 45 min – 1 hour to complete. Parents are welcome to attend.
  • Both student and parent please bring (If applicable):
    • Social security numbers
    • Alien registration number for eligible non-citizens
    • Income tax returns from 2016
    • W2s
    • Bank statements/records of untaxed income
    • Parent’s marital status date
